A NOTE FROM MICHELE

“Death is a powerful teacher. My transformational, advanced planning map-making series is a practical guide so that in the end, you can create the greatest love story ever told for those who matter the most to you. As an end-of-life doula, I am oftentimes called upon to use my decades of experience as a massage therapist to provide palliative touch to those with life-limiting illnesses.”

I offer personalized death-doula services.

  • Advance Care Mapping

People approach planning in different ways and I can help create a map that can make end-of-life more comfortable. A map we create together might include creating an advance care directive, appointing a health care proxy, an ethical will, or referrals for any legal documentation to ensure your wishes are honored. As a notary public, I am available to facilitate the signing and witnessing of official documents.

  • Death Companionship

Death doulas are death companions dedicated to supporting people as they experience grief and death. Death doulas can help with logistical preparation, such as personal organization and funeral arrangements. They can also discuss death and dying with families, help form a care circle, as well as sit bedside with the person who is dying to provide respite care.

  • Family Support

I support loved ones as well as the person who is dying. I am available to help with organization of financial, medical, insurance, legal, and personal documents and communications so that loved ones have room to process emotions and grieve. I can also provide emotional support for the end-of-life stages and grieving after a loved one has passed.

  • Personal Organization

Day-to-day organization becomes challenging during end-of-life and it can be difficult to adapt to changes in the home environment (new medical equipment or beds, your care team, and more. I can help organize new details and set up your space for minimal disruption and maximum peace - so that you continue to have control of your space and daily life.

  • Palliative Massage

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2008, OBMT Lic. No. 15857. I include palliative and comfort touch with my death doula offerings. I provide massage in my home office and mobile massage with a zero-gravity chair in the comfort of one’s own space. These services are available to the person who is dying as well as their loved ones.
